CANCER OF THE FOOT AND LEG

THIS PAGE IS A WORK IN PROGRESS, WE HATE EVERY CANCER.

IF YOU SEE SOMETHING UNUSUAL ANYWHERE ON YOUR BODY OR FEEL SOMETHING THAT YOU THINK IS NOT QUITE NORMAL, DO NOT LEAVE IT ALONE, GO SEE A DOCTOR. AND IF YOU ARE NOT CONVINCED OF WHAT THAT DOCTOR SAID GET A SECOND OPINION. GET A SECOND OPINION!!!!!!!!!!!!

IMPORTANT - SKIN CANCERS ON THE FOOT LOOK DIFFERENT THAN THEY DO ON OTHER PARTS OF THE BODY BECAUSE OF THE DIFFERENCES IN THE TYPE OF SKIN DOWN THERE.

WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU ACTUALLY LOOKED ON THE BOTTOM OF YOUR FEET OR BETWEEN YOUR TOES. MOST PEOPLE NEVER DO. TAKE A LOOK.

IMPORTANT SUGGESTIONS :

  1. If you have a wound that does not heal - see someone. The doctor may take a biopsy of it to see what it is. EVERY WOUND NEEDS A REASON TO BE THERE !!!! sometimes its pressure causing it, other times its blood flow issues or an injury. But if there is no reason you can think of - it needs to be examined and possibly a biopsy taken.

  2. If you have a wound for a long time and it was examined and was biopsied. It can turn into cancer over time this is called a MARJOLIN ULCER. This is serious and needs to be dealt with.

  3. If you find a bump that you don’t think was there before. It’s most likely nothing but - have it checked. Why not do it as soon as you can.

  4. If you find a ‘birth mark’ that you don’t remember being there - have it checked - why not??

HOW WE HELP IN THESE SITUATIONS:

WE RECOMMEND YOU SEE A DERMATOLOGIST OR ONCOLOGIST WHO SPECIALIZES IN THIS.

WE CAN WORK WITH THE ONCOLOGIST EITHER IN PROPER AMPUTATION (YES THERE IS A RIGHT WAY TO DO IT) OR WE DO HAVE THE ABILITY TO RECONSTRUCT AND REPLACE ANY BONES OR FLESH THAT NEEDS TO BE REMOVED AND SAVE A BODY PART FROM AMPUTATION. IN CERTAIN CASES WE CAN REGROW PARTS OF THE BODY AS NEEDED.
