Dr. David Gitlin is a Board Certified podiatric foot and ankle surgeon with extensive fellowship training in limb reconstructive surgery as well as all aspects of both adult and pediatric foot and ankle conditions including cosmetic foot surgery, bunion correction, trauma ,arthroscopy, charcot reconstruction, congenital deformity, and revision surgery. Our office also provides a unique surgical nerve decompression procedure to alleviate painful diabetic neuropathy.

Dr. Gitlin received his specialized surgical training over a course of eight years both home in the United States as well as abroad at many innovative institutions in Russia at the Ilizarov Center, in Egypt as well as the United Kingdom in an effort to learn techniques not currently taught in the USA.

Our practice is considered by many to be a Regional Center of Excellence in Limb Salvage in particular with cases of diabetic foot complications as well as difficult foot and ankle trauma. We are also one of the few practitioners of the classic ilizarov technique in North America for minimal incision bloodless correction of congenital and acquired foot and ankle deformity as well as cases of osteomyelitis, nonunion, and revisional surgery.  Dr. Gitlin is also certified to perform microsurgical transplantation and replantation is severe limb threatening conditions. We currently provide patient care to the best of our abilities at multiple locations in New York , Long island, and Connecticut.
